SP Jain School of Global Management rolls out virtual labs in emerging technologies

SP Jain School of Global Management has introduced six virtual laboratories to help prepare students to deal with emerging technologies. The virtual labs in the areas of blockchain, Internet of Things, machine learning, application programming interface, cyber security and AR/VR (augmented reality and virtual reality) will be supplemented by workshops and incubation labs for students who want to create new ventures. Faculty members will mentor the students. “Today’s business students need to have a strong understanding of technology because it is one of the main factors causing major disruptions in the market.”

The labs will help students understand, among other things, how to use big data for analytics, or how blockchain can create different kinds of new business models,” Nitish Jain, president, SP Jain School of Global Management, told ET. The institute is also setting up labs for deep learning and for 3D work — both of which will give students practical exposure to theoretical concepts.
