Australian SMEs get access to free marketing resources courtesy of the Australian Marketing Institute

The Australian Marketing Institute (‘AMI’) has launched a new online marketing training hub that will offer three months of free and convenient access to practical marketing resources for Australian businesses impacted by COVID-19.

Known as the SME Marketing Hub (‘Hub’), it supports Australian SMEs recovering from COVID-19 by offering applied marketing tips and connecting them with professional marketers to help guide and shape their marketing activities.

AMI Chair Lynda Cavalera said the Hub will enable SMEs to maximise their marketing efforts during this challenging time.

“AMI’s new SME Marketing Hub provides users with access to our meticulously curated content and an exclusive directory of consultants from leading organisations across sectors” Ms Cavalera said.

“Through this practical and free initiative, AMI and its members are working to help Australian SMEs to get the best out of their marketing activities whilst charting their way out of COVID-19.”

Data from the survey by AMI revealed since the onset of COVID-19, more than half (52.9%) of businesses in Australia had had to cope with reduced marketing expenditures; for nearly three quarters (71.2%) of the organisations, marketing teams had been involved or highly involved in developing strategies responding to COVID-19 .

“In a time when so many organisations are having to cut back on marketing expenditure, it is all the more important that businesses are leveraging the strength and capabilities of AMI accredited Certified Practising Marketers,” Ms Cavalera said.

The Hub includes six modules that cover different elements of marketing below. Types of resources featured include online lessons, toolkits, tutorials, as well as advice.

  • Module 1:  The Ingredients of a Successful SME Marketing Plan
  • Module 2:  Who are Your Customers?
  • Module 3:  Customers’ Needs vs Your Value Proposition
  • Module 4: The Importance of SME Brand Identity
  • Module 5: Translating Your Strategy into a Communication Plan
  • Module 6: Measuring Marketing Success

“Collaborating with senior marketers and making the resources effectively free for everyone now, ensures that marketers can obtain credible and practical advice access to marketing resources when they need it, or allow businesses to simply take up this opportunity for upskilling,” Ms Cavalera added.

The AMI’s Certified Practising Marketer designation is the only peak professional benchmark of its kind for marketers in the Asia-Pacific Region. Unlike tertiary or vocational education, CPM recognises not only formal education but the successful application of marketing knowledge and skills.

Access to the SME Hub is free for AMI Members and Affiliate Members. Non-Marketers who want to learn more about marketing can join AMI as Affiliate Members for free for the first three months, which enables access to the Hub.
